DOG SEES GOD: JAKE EPSTEIN |
Jake Epstein (CB) Jake has been performing since the age of 10 when he attended the Claude Watson School for the Arts. In his final years at school he was cast in Soulpepper's Our Town, and in Cameron MacKintosh's Oliver! (The Artful Dodger.) The following year he appeared in several Disney made-for-tv movies, and was cast as a regular on the Fox Family series, The Zack Files. Following this, he starred in Degrassi: The Next Generation for five years earning himself a Gemini Award, a nomination the following year, and a Young Artist Award nomination. During his Degrassi years he appeared as a guest star on Radio Free Roscoe, Angela's Eyes, Paradise Falls, The Eleventh Hour, and as a supporting character in the movie-of-the week Crown Heights. However, Epstein s love of theatre stayed strong as he starred in several of his high school plays, the most notable one being the Emcee in Cabaret. After high school, he attended the National Theatre School of Canada. His favourite roles from theatre school include playing Charles Manson in The Citizens (a collective creation), performing in his own one-man show entitled A Minor Celebrity, creating his Jewish reggae clown and performing in a collective Clown Show, and playing Lord Are in Restoration. Since graduation, Epstein played the role of Danceny in Dangerous Liaisons at the Segal Centre in Montreal, and the Prince in Ross Petty's Cinderella at the Elgin Theatre. Jake couldn't be happier to be performing in Toronto in Dog Sees God. He thanks his favourite author (mom), his favourite singer (Gabi), and his mentor and guide (dad.) And as always, he thanks his band, Funkasaurus Rex, for keeping the funk alive. Source: http://dogseesgod.ca/ |
